Reading Program at Birmingham Civil Rights Institute

Saturday, February 22nd, 2020 from 1:00pm to 4:30pm (CT)

About

United Way is sponsoring a February series in honor of Black History Month at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Children and their parents come and listen to a celebrity reader (usually the book’s author) read. They go home with a book after a pizza party. We’re featuring the book Superhero Like Me.

The celebrity reader is 9-year old Ethan Hill who is gaining notoriety for helping the homeless and encouraging children to help those in need.

Volunteers are needed to welcome guests, set up the pizza and drink serving stations and distribute the books.
