Help us celebrate our seniors during Older Americans Month.....Volunteers Needed!!


United Way Area Agency on Aging is hosting our annual Senior Celebration during May.  This year's theme is "Make Your Mark" celebrating seniors' individuality, uniqueness, and accomplishments.  More than 1,000 seniors will gather to enjoy entertainment, fellowship and lunch at this fun event. 


Volunteer Position Descriptions

Set-Up:  This crew will help set-up for the event, including unloading and organizing water, snacks, table decorations and general event supplies.  Volunteers will be on their feet throughout their shift and should be able to do lifting and moving supplies.

Greeters/Guides:
Pre-event-
This team will greet attendees upon their arrival and assist seniors with getting off their buses. Greeters/Guides will be on their feet throughout their shifts.

Post-event-
This team will guide attendees from their tables to their buses.  Volunteers will assist in keeping groups together and ensure they get on the appropriate bus.Greeters/Guides will be on their feet throughout their shifts.

Senior Center Buddy: 
This team will be by the Senior Center Manager's side throughout the event.  Volunteers will guide groups to their assigned tables, assist with taking the photos at the photo booth for the group, confirm all members of group receives lunches, assists with BINGO and encourages participation for vendor table visits.

Food: 
This team will help assemble boxed lunches and deliver them to seniors.  Volunteers will be on their feet throughout their shifts.

Performers: 
This team will serve as the point of contact for the performers and special guests.  Volunteers will be responsible for getting the performers/special guests to the stage area at their designated time and assisting them as needed.  Volunteers will be on their feet throughout most of their shifts.

Vendors: 
This team will serve as the point of contact for the vendors.  Volunteers will help unload /carry items for the vendor and guide them to their table for the event.  Volunteers will be on their feet throughout most of their shifts.

Clean-up: 
This team will help with break down and cleaning up after the event is over
