IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!!!!

To ensure social distancing requirements are met, Volunteers MUST register for a shift on the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama's website in order to volunteer. before arriving to the drive. You will receive a confirmation email with the link to the Community Food Bank's website to register for your shift. Please choose a time during the time slot you registered for.  You MUST register for a shift or you will NOT be able to volunteer. 

Here are a few things to remember on your volunteer day:

1. If you are feeling sick, please reschedule or cancel your volunteer assignment. Handling food products while sick, compromises the safety of those we serve and our employees who are crucial to continuing our operations. 
2. Wear closed toe-shoes and dress in layers. The Food Bank warehouse is not climate controlled, and there is heavy equipment. Please dress appropriately and safely. Also, if needed, wear glasses, as you will be reading food labels!
3. For safety reasons, the minimum age for volunteering is eight years old. Minors under 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult chaperone. We require one adult for every 6 children. 
4. HAVE FUN! We love meeting new people, listening to stories, and working together to have a hunger-free community! Our team at the Community Food and United Way Hands On are proud to work with you.
