Sign-up here for IN-PERSON training to complete the IRS Volunteer Certification to work on-site at United Way’s Tax Center, helping our neighbors file their returns for free.
Volunteers engage with clients and ask questions to ensure accurate and complete returns are filed, helping taxpayers access credits that they are eligible to claim.
Throughout the process, volunteer preparers have access to on-site tax specialists to answer questions related to filing returns.
Once certified, you can volunteer to complete tax returns for members of our community and choose days and times that best fit your schedule 8:30-4:30 Monday-Friday.

Volunteers must complete and provide IRS Certification prior to volunteering. At end of training, you will be ready to complete certification test. United Way covers cost of background check for all volunteers.
To avoid a hefty fine, DO NOT PARK in the lot next to the Collat School of Business. If you need accommodations, please contact us well in advance.
