    ECHA County Food Guide Project

With it being the weekend, I took the time to research the existing Senior Nutrition Food Resources for Montgomery County to see if any online information about the service has changed. I also created an action plan for me to execute in the week following that will complete my current task and allow me to move to another portion of the air table. What I like most about this experience is my ability to see the changes I make be reflected on the public website. It is both a rewarding and encouraging feeling as I know that I am making an active difference in the community. It is also beneficial to know that I am helping a community remotely. The most challenging part of the volunteer experiences is knowing what to ask and how to ask it. With my first few phone calls, I was unsure if I asked as much as I could or gave the service provider enough information about who I was and the agency I was representing. With today’s volunteering, I also took the time to read and make comments on the Perusall articles under General Hunger. Overall, I managed to gain a better understanding of Montgomery County's Senior Nutrition programs as well as food insecurity within Alabama.
