This experience was very nice as I navigated everything for the first time and subsequently the last as COVID-19 forced us all to become distant. During my two hours I was able to help 4 people. From beginning to end, I greeted the shopper, asked for their student ID, updated their information, informed them on how the process works and reiterated which items (and how many of what) were available to them. The tour was short and concise as everything was organized in a way that was self explanatory. Once the shoppers chose their food selections, I then pointed them toward the non food supplies closet which consisted of cups, diapers and feminine supplies to name a few. To finish up, I catalogued the food and other supply weight in the computer and offered a bag if they had not already gotten one. This experience was very rewarding, because I know that these students will have what they need for the time being. The biggest challenge was knowing how to do everything with the first shopper because I was alone. There were certain rules like not handing out a bag twice. Overall, I enjoyed volunteering here :)
