Hope to do it again
I attended with my almost-eight-year old daughter, and we enjoyed it very much. Much of the day's work involved invasive plant removal, and my daughter was too small to operate the heavy loppers or haul large tree branches. Wil from Cahaba River Society made sure that she was still included by assigning her the task of flagging cut stumps. The student volunteers from Key Club were great to work with as were the all of the other families and individuals volunteering. Wil gave us a lot of environmental education as we picked up trash during the nature walk. All in all, it was a fun day to be outdoors and get to know the other volunteers while cleaning up the trail.
